Christian Education - Titus 1:1-3

In Paul's letter to Titus, he begins by stating one of his (Paul's) purposes as an apostle. He is a minister for the sake of God's elect and their knowledge of the truth. Implicit in Paul's words is the fact that knowledge of the truth is foundational and that that truth is found in the word of God, the Bible. It is the word of God that is used by the Holy Spirit to change us, God's people, saved by Christ. Paul wants us as "God's elect" to read God's word regularly, daily, so that we can grow in the knowledge of the truth, and this growth is very important because it suits us better for the eternal life which is ours in Christ.
