outreachWe are always looking for opportunities to serve the Lord in our community, our country, and around the world!  We praise God for allowing us to serve Him in the following ways:

Local Outreach: While we are zealous for foreign missions, we are most useful right here where God has put us!  We see a place for all Christians to take part in the outreach and evangelism of the church.  There are times throughout the year when we hold outreach events in the community, however, our primary focus is on modeling and encouraging personal evangelism.  Most people visit a new church because someone gave them a personal invitation.  Most evangelism happens naturally and relationally as we love people and point them to Jesus.

Growth Groups: Meeting in homes around the city for Bible study, prayer, singing, and Christian fellowship.  This is a great opportunity to reach out into your neighborhood and bring the good news of Jesus to those close to you.

Church Planting:  Since we are a mission work, this might seem like a no-brainer!  However, we are committed to support church planting not only here in San Antonio, but also around our Presbytery and throughout the United States.  Please visit chmce.org for more information on our church planting labors.

Foreign Missions:  It is a high calling and privilege to carry out our Lord’s great commission not only here in San Antonio, but throughout the world!  Our missionaries serve in places like Uganda, Eritrea, The Ukraine, Uruguay, Haiti, Canada, and various Asian countries.  They are fully supported by our churches so they don’t have to worry about fundraising while they are serving in the field.  Visit our foreign missions committee page to learn more about this important work that we are involved in.

Pregnancy Care Center:  This ministry focuses on providing biblical counseling and tangible help to women in a crisis pregnancy situation.  Please visit sapregnancy.org for more information about their services and to learn how to volunteer.  We value life, and support women who choose life even in the midst of extreme difficulties.

Christian Education: The Christian life is a constant process of growth in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. We encourage regular Bible reading and study and offer many opportunities for further study and discipleship.  On Sunday mornings before worship, we have Sunday School classes for all ages.  Men’s and Women’s Bible studies meet on alternating Wednesday evenings in local homes and provide a wonderful opportunity for study, fellowship, and prayer.  We have a youth group that meets for fellowship, and also offer church membership and leadership training classes as needed.

Summer Camp:  We support and participate in the OPC Youth Camp every Summer!  We meet at Alto Frio Baptist Encampment with youth from all over Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico for a great week of fun as we worship God, memorize His word, and participate in lots of fun and crazy activities!  Camp is for kids going into 4th grade through high school.  We also have a college-aged work crew, and opportunities for adults to serve as counselors.  Visit the camp page to view a promotional video and get more info.
