The Light of Life - John 8:12-30
Jesus teaches that he is the light of the world, and the light of life, echoing John 1:4. He affirms the truth of his testimony about himself with the witness of God the Father despite the unbelief of the Pharisees. Further, Jesus taught plainly the spiritual truth that he was not of this world but was from above, sent by the Father, but the Pharisees did not understand. Jesus said he always pleases his Father, and so we would do well to have that same constant focus, serving out of love to glorify the Lord. Jesus teaching reached people’s hearts and many believed in him, and the Lord was pleased to save them.
