CloseDavid realizes his need for God and actively seeks him. David's need, his longing, is consuming. This is true for all of us who love God. It is right for us to say with David that God is OUR God, and like David, our souls have powerful deep need for God and this longing for Him can be satisfied nowhere else. The urgency of David's (and our) need for God is such that it is a "life or death" issue. Like David too we can have great confidence (v. 5) that the Lord will give full and abundant satisfaction of our need for him. There is a banquet of salvation in Christ and all his benefits for all who trust in Him.
