The Return of the King - John 12:9-19
The chief priests add Lazarus to the list of those they plan to kill because many who knew of Lazarus believed in Jesus and were giving witness to others. A large crowd welcomed Jesus as he entered Jerusalem, praising him as the King of Israel. They worshiped and served king Jesus as we do today. Riding a donkey, Jesus illustrated humility and gentleness. The disciples did not understand this event being the fulfillment of Zachariah 9:9, until later.
