A Son is Born - Ruth 4:1-21
The book of Ruth is a story of God's provision. He provided a redeemer for Ruth and Naomi in the person of Boaz who was committed to seeing that the line of Judah not be cut off. Boaz married Ruth and the Lord gave them a son, Obed, who was born in Bethlehem (as was Jesus) and who was the grandfather of David and direct ancestor of the real redeemer Jesus, David's greater son. The Lord provided redemption for Ruth, Naomi, Israel, and us.
