Chosen by the Father - Ephesians 1:3-6
Paul's doxology in Ephesians 1:3-14 is one long sentence in Greek. In it he focuses on the work of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit in our salvation. In v.3-6, he begins by focusing on the Father's work of choosing us before the foundation of the world. The doctrine of election or predestination has been controversial in recent church history, however it is clearly taught here and many places in the Scriptures. It is a great comfort for us to know and rejoice in God's sovereign grace, knowing that apart from Him, we would be left dead in our sins.
