Truth For Life
Ephesians can be divided into two main sections, the indicative section goes through chapter 3, and the imperative section begins in chapter 4. In addition to calling this the indicative/imperative, you can also refer to it as doctrine/duty, faith/life, or to borrow from the Westminster Shorter Catechism, what man is to believe concerning God and what duty God requires of man. In 4:1-3 we see the gospel centered life of the believer lived in the power of the Spirit. This life is characterized by humility, gentleness, patience, long suffering, and unity.
