ClosePaul refers, in this passage, to people in his time who are much like those of us today whose lives have been transformed by Christ. The picture here is of people doing ordinary things such as what we are to do today: faithfully minister & serve the Lord while praying for each other, encouraging each other, forgiving one another. We benefit from the work done by these Christians ages ago. We are called to continue to work for the Lord Jesus who was present with these Christians 2000 years ago, and who is just as present with us still today.
