Official Faith - John 4:43-54
Jesus returns to Cana in Galilee. He is approached by an official who has come from Capernaum about 15 miles east on the north shore of the sea of Galilee. This official asks Jesus to come to Capernaum and heal his son who was at the point of death. Jesus does not come with the official but tells him to go, that his son will live, and the official believed Jesus and headed home. The official was met by his servants on his way home and told his son was recovering and he learned that the recovery began at the same time that Jesus had made the promise of recovery to the official. Then the official believed not only the promise of the healing of his son, but more importantly the promise of eternal life from Jesus, Jesus as Savior not merely from physical illness but from the wages of sin. The official and his family were saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
