Image Renewal ~ Colossians 3:5-11
All of mankind fell in Adam, no longer imaging God in knowledge, righteousness and holiness. In this passage Paul says we are being renewed in Christ's image, learning to walk in Him. This is in direct conflict with our old way of living. Here Paul gives a 1-2 punch: two lists of 5 fold sins we inherited in Adam that we fight against and should put off while standing firm in the finished work of Christ's righteousness. This week John Paul reminds us that we must we put off our sinful ways because they aren't coming with us, and encourages: You can put to death the worst of yourself in Christ because you have put on Christ and are being remade in the image of our Creator!
