Give Thanks in All Things - 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Paul teaches earlier in the chapter that God destined us for salvation in Christ who died for us that we might live with him. Based on this rich and true blessing, Paul can command us to be thankful in all things, whether sweet blessings or bitter trials, and the ability to be thankful in trials is possible only in the context of gratitude based on our salvation, peace with God and God's smile of love.
