CloseHere Paul contrasts the Lord's supper with pagan feasts. He teaches that the cup of blessing which was blessed by Jesus is a participation in the blood of Christ, and the bread a participation in the body of Christ, and by participating in faith we are blessed, we receive grace, receive love poured out to us from God. During the Lord's supper, communion, we are bound together to each other and to Christ. Our unity as a church of believers is expressed in this sacrament of the Lord's supper. Our unity with each other and with Christ by his Spirit is a source of joy - rejoice!
