Grace on the Brain - Titus 3:1-15

Paul's letter to Titus has a wonderful reminder to behave as Christians, being submissive to authority (unless it is contrary to scripture), be ready to do good and gentle and courteous to everybody. He justifies this reminder because he recalls to us that we ourselves were not good, full of many kinds of sin (verse 3), and that we were saved by Jesus, "God our Savior" purely by his mercy, giving us new hearts (regeneration) and the Holy Spirit to dwell in us. Jesus also justified us by taking our punishment on himself, and God because of Jesus work for us adopted us as his sons and made us heirs according to the hope of eternal life. It is a rich and rewarding thing to keep our great salvation in mind, so in gratitude we can live holy and loving lives.
